RAID Drives

RAID Drives ,This type of storage technology can be configured to support different system requirements. A BAID system needing to support a fault-tolerant computer provides duplicate file copies on different drives. When fast access speeds are a priority, RAID drives spread the contents of a file over two or more disks, which allows several read/write heads to access data simultaneously. Special disk controllers are needed to create RAID drives.

How to Restore the Sound

There are many problems that might appear with your computer and one problem can be with the sound system within your device for which we will try to give some computer repair tips. When your computer suddenly runs silent you should know the reasons for this problem as in this way you can have it fixed and also prevent it from future happening.

If you have the time and also the financial possibilities you can take it to a computer repair service and have it checked by a professional. In fact, many computer users resort to this solution given the fact that they use the device as a tool to help them do the work. When this tool gives signs of being damaged, then a technician I called to fix the problem.

But with the sound problem, there are some things that you can try doing before considering taking the device to the repair workshop.

* You must know that a computer will not make any sound because the drivers to the sound card are not installed. Therefore you should consider restoring them. Open Control Panel and click on System and then Hardware. While being here, click on Device Manager. In case the icon belonging to sound has an exclamation mark pf yellow color then the drivers have been corrupted and they need to be restored. For this, you need the CD that your computer came with for the sound card. You can also consider downloading the drivers online, if this comes easier to you.

* In case this exclamation mark is not there, you should check with the speaker cords. Are they loose or un-plugged? Make sure that the cable belongs to the right outlet. You can try and exchange different cords and if this works, then the sound will be there.

* The steps from above are the first to consider in restoring the sound with these computer repair tips. If none of the above fix the problem, then you must check the mute button from the Windows Volume Control. Many times this is turned to mute or sound off and we have no idea that this is the cause of the problem. To remove the mute option, uncheck the box within this option.

Erasable Disks

Erasable optical disk drives ,Like magnetic hard disk, scan overwrite data ,erasable disks are the most flexible type of optical storage media. Some of these optical disks are called magneto-optical disks because the bit patterns are aligned magnetically on the disk. Because the magnetized 1 and 0 bits reflect light differently, the bit patterns are optically read using a laser, hence the name magneto optical.

The hardware cost and slow transfer speed’s currently associated with erasable optical disks have kept them from economically competing with magnetic hard disk. The increased storage capacity of optical disk technology gives it great potential as a popular type of storage hardware. Although research continues to improve erasable optical disk technology magnetic storage media are still the storage workhorses for most computer systems.

Removable and Fixed Disks

Disk packs can be inserted into a disk drive for temporary’ use or installed permanently within the drive. Such disks are called removable disk or fixed disks, respectively. Removable disks lend versatility to disk use. Because disks can be inserted and removed, the number of disks available for use with a drive is countless. Inside a disk drive the removable disk is less vulnerable to dirt and destructive elements in the environment. Fixed disks are built inside the computer case and sealed from the outside
environment to protect the disk. An access light on the front panel is turned on when
data is being read or written. Users are advised to park the drive before moving a computer with a fixed hard disk. Parking the access mechanism, shown in Figure 7.9, locks the disk drive’s read/write heads into place so the arm does not move after the computer is turned off.

One way of installing a fixed disk into a PC is to insert a hard card into an open expansion slot on the computer’s motherboard. A hard card is an expansion card with a small fixed disk built inside

Boost Your PC Performance Using A Free Registry Cleaner 2

Microsoft saw the need to combine all that information into one space and one program which is the registry. It stores everything from program settings and data to operating information. Anytime you utilized any type of program you will have added values show up in your registry.

Cleaning Up The Registry – What makes the registry need cleaning? After some time of using your computer, and adding and deleting programs, things begin to clutter your registry. When you delete a program all the files are not necessarily gone from your registry. Now they are cluttering it up.

Your computer is a ‘reader’. The smoothest and fastest read of the alphabet is if the letters are in order like a,b,c,d,e,f,…..and so on, but when these letters are out of place and there are random letters just hanging out like a,f,f,e,i,m,i,w,….. it takes longer for the ‘reader’ to sort it out and read it.

A registry cleaner will scan the registry and take out the redundant files and put everything back into a good working order. Then your computer will not have to work so hard to read your files and will in turn speed up.

Most cleaners come with good backup programs so if anything goes wrong your files can be restored to the state they were in before you began the cleaning. You can find plenty of free registry cleaners online, but you want to make sure you have the best one for your computer. Go into forums and ask questions and visit review sites to see about good support and effective cleaners.

Boost Your PC Performance Using A Free Registry Cleaner 1

A good registry cleaner can rid your registry of redundant and unused files, but first let’s talk about what your registry is as well as how these programs actually work. Just like you store your personal documents into a file, your Windows stores all the information for your computer into your registry.

Everything concerning your system’s configuration are contained within your registry. It is crucial to how your computer operates. It holds your software programs and hardware settings. Your computer could not operate without your registry, and there are times when the registry becomes cluttered and needs to be cleaned. That’s when a good registry cleaner can be a great tool to have.

Dealing with many computers in the past I found that people who use registry cleaners usually do not find themselves having to handle as many issues as people who don’t use them. The first registry was created and introduced by Microsoft and added to Windows 95. Before we had a registry the computers would store all their files in a common challenging drive. This was not effective at all./continue…
